The person behind the essays

About

I'm Robert Encarnacao — an AI strategist and systems futurist writing about architecture, logic, and technological trust.

Bit & Being is where those two words collide: the bit — computation, architecture, the machinery of intelligence — and the being — the humans who build it, work beside it, and have to stay in charge of it. Every essay here lives somewhere in that tension.

I write for the executive who has to make AI decisions with incomplete information, for the engineer watching their tools become teammates, and for anyone who suspects that the interesting questions about AI are not really about AI at all — they are about us.

The essays were originally published on LinkedIn and are collected here, organized, and made searchable. New writing lands here first and flows out to Substack, Medium, and LinkedIn.

Work with me

I advise on AI strategy, legacy modernization, and the organizational side of adopting intelligent systems. If your team is wrestling with any of the problems these essays describe, see how I work and get in touch at encarnacao.net.
